Format Laptop

Kekadang frust bila kita rasa PC makin berat. Atau terlalu banyak sangat sowfware-software mengarut yang kita install (kenkonon nak try la). Eksperimen itu, test ini, last-last terasa cam nak format semula PC untuk kasi fresh cam baru keluar kedai. I don't know about others, but that is actually happen to me that makes me format my PC at least once in every two months. Gila. Kekadang sebulan sekali!

Balik dari kampung arituh aku format PC. Dan setiap kali format, masa ni la nak buat list apa yang perlu install...

9. Winrar - Bagi aku dia ni jauh lebih mudah, user friendly dan banyak kegunaan berbanding Winzip
10. Java Runtime - Keperluan PC
11. Net FrameWork - keperluan PC
12. Yahoo Messanger - Memember ramai dalam ni. Tapi berat sket banyak guna memory menatang ni.
13. Google Talk - Ringan. Best guna. memang 24 Hours aku online
14. Acrobat Reader - satu keperluan dah lebih kurang MS Words dah ni
15. K-Lite Codec Pack - takde masalah file video takleh bukak
16. uTorrent - ringan
17. Tuneup Utilities - senang nak tweak dan fix errors

Ni semua yg wajib la nih. Cuma part Antivirus tu jer yg belum decide nak guna yang mana pulak kali ni. Sebelum ni aku guna 'Symantec AntiVirus(TM) Corporate Edition'. Tapi memandangkan tu version dah lama, so aku rasa eloklah kalau try yang baru. Timbul persoalan...

How to convert ODT (Open Office) file to DOC (Microsoft Word) via website

Actually you don't need any kind of software or converter to convert *.odt file to *.doc format.

What is odt? This file format is part of the Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) 1.0 specification. The .odt format is for word processing (text) documents for OpenDocument or ODF, short for the OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (similars to microsoft word in microsoft office). A lot of people out there using this application simply because it is FREE and not like microsoft office you have to paid a big amount of money for it license.

The problem is when when OpenDocument user wanted to give some write-up to the microsoft office user. This happen to me quite sometimes. Of course I cannot open ODT file with microsoft office word so what I have to do is to convert this .odt file to become either .doc or .docx file format first.

Bagaimana nak set write protected pada thumbdrive

Seperti yang semua tahu virus/ worm/ trojan/ spyware dan segala macam jenis dan gelaran lagi pada script-script programming yang tak mendatangkan manfaat ni sangat mudah menjangkiti thumdrive (pendrive, flashdrive atau apa juga nama yang korang gelar). Especially for those yang menggunakan public PC seperti komputer di Lab faculty atau perpustakaan sekolah (yang boleh dikatakan tempat beranaknya virus-virus ni). Jadi once thumbdrive korang dah ter-infected, jadi kalau lepas pada tu korang cucuk kat mana-mana PC lain, korang hanya akan menyebarkan virus tersebut ke PC lain pula.

Dan andai kata PC tersebut ada antivirus dengan pattern terkini, maka file-file korang yang dah terinfeksi mungkin akan dikuarantinkan. Tambah malang bila file-file tersebut adalah file-file penting seperti thesis atau assignment-assignment korang. Lebih malang bila itulah saja satu-satunya salinan file yang korang ada tanpa ada satu backup file pun di komputer lain. Trust me, I know that feeling~!

Jadi antara solution yang paling mudah adalah menjadikan thumbdrive kita sebagai 'write protected'. Jadi bila mana kita cucuk flash disk tersebut ke mana-mana PC sekalipun terutama yang mempunyai virus (antara yg terkenal satu masa dulu adalah JambanMu dan MaxTrox) ia tidak boleh 'menyalin diri mereka' (duplicate themself) ke dalam pendrive kita.
